Downloading

Download Chirper Desktop from chirper.app/desktop. The page recommends the right version for your device.

Installing

Chirper Desktop is safe to install, but your browser and computer may warn you about it the first time. This happens because the app isn’t signed by a paid publisher certificate yet. Follow the steps below to get past the warnings.
1

Keep the download

Your browser may say the file isn’t commonly downloaded or could harm your device.
  • Microsoft Edge: Hover over the download, click ⋯, then Keep. If asked again, click Show more → Keep anyway.
  • Google Chrome: Click Keep next to the download, then Keep anyway.
2

Open the installer

Open chirper-windows.exe from your Downloads folder.
3

Get past SmartScreen

If you see Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
4

Finish installing

Follow the installer. Chirper opens when it’s done.
You only need to do this once. After that, Chirper opens normally and updates itself.
Only download Chirper Desktop from chirper.app/desktop. Never run a copy someone sends you directly.

Getting started

1

Open Chirper

Once it’s installed, open Chirper.
2

Sign in with Discord

Chirper opens your browser so you can sign in with Discord. Once you’re signed in, return to the app.
3

Pick your server

Open the Chirper app on the phone and choose your server.
Your server’s admins can turn off posting from Chirper Desktop in the Apps section of the dashboard.

The phone

The overlay is a phone with its own apps.

Showing and hiding the overlay

  • Minimize: Tuck the phone into the small Chirper bubble when you need your screen back. Click the bubble to bring it back.
  • Shortcut: Show or hide the overlay with a keyboard shortcut.
You can change the shortcut in Chirper Settings → Keyboard.

Opens with your game

Chirper can show itself automatically when Roblox opens, and hide again when you quit. Both are on by default. Turn them on or off in Chirper Settings → Auto-Open:
  • Auto show: Show the overlay when a game opens.
  • Auto hide: Hide it when the game quits.

Chirper Settings

Open Chirper Settings from Chirper’s icon in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows). On macOS, you can also press Command + ,. The same menu has Show Overlay, Check for Updates, and Quit Chirper.
